Deze grote affiche meet 120 cm op 160 cm en is bevestigd op linnen. Hoewel de affiche in zijn geheel wat verkleurd is, is de conditie nog behoorlijk goed voor de leeftijd.

Fim d'Art
De Film d'Art (oftewel Le societé de film d'art) werd opgericht in februari 1908 door Paul Lafitte. Het doel van deze organisatie was om een breder (meer gegoed) publiek te kunnen bereiken met filmvertoningen. Dit deed men door verschillende bekende theaterstukken te gaan verfilmen en door bekende acteurs, actrices en scenaristen uit de Comédie Française te betrekken.
Oorspronkelijk was het de bedoeling dat de films verdeeld werden door de Compagnie des Cinéma-Halls, maar deze firma ging failliet. Hierdoor moest men zowel voor de productie als voor de vertoningen uitwijken naar de firma Pathé Frères.
Over het algemeen slaagde de organisatie er in om een meer gegoed publiek aan te trekken, maar op filmisch gebied waren deze films een stap terug in de tijd. De films werden opgenomen door een statische camera in statische decors. Het was werkelijk alsof je naar een theatervoorstelling zat te kijken, inclusief de theatrale gebaren van de acteurs en actrices.
In navolging van de Film d'Art richtte Pathé in Italië de Film d'Arte op. Ook andere productiehuizen uit de tijd namen het concept over van de 'artistieke' films.
Fim d'Art
The Film d'Art (or Le societé de film d'art) was founded in february 1908 by Paul Lafitte. The aim of this organization was to reach a broader (more rich) audience with. This was done by adapting various well-known theater pieces and by involving well-known actors, actresses and screenwriters from the Comédie Française.
Originally the films were to be distributed by the Compagnie des Cinéma-Halls, but this company went bankrupt. As a result, both the production and the screenings had to be moved to the Pathé Frères company.
In general, the film d'art succeeded in attracting a more rich audience, but the cinematography of these movies were a step back in time. The films were recorded by a static camera in static decors. It was really like watching a theater performance, including the theatrical gestures of the actors and actresses.
Following the Film d'Art in France, Pathé founded the Film d'Arte in Italy. Other production houses also implimented the concept of 'artistic' films.
